Our Story

Bonjour! Since 1 October 2013, we at BOUCHON d'en Face have been bringing the typical bistro style from Lyon to the Netherlands. As enthusiastic French foodies, we wanted to introduce the Dutch population to the delicious flavours of our home cuisine. With our menu full of classic French dishes such as escargots, bouillabaisse and confit de canard, we offer an affordable and accessible French culinary experience.

 

At BOUCHON d'en Face, quality and taste are always at the forefront. Our kitchen staff works exclusively with the freshest and seasonal ingredients to serve you dishes of the highest quality. Our chef has years of experience in renowned restaurants in France and the Netherlands and knows better than anyone how to prepare traditional French dishes with a modern twist.

Besides our classic menu, we also have a menu gourmand. This menu offers a comprehensive culinary journey through French cuisine, combining the flavours of different regions and experimenting with new tastes. We also offer an extensive wine list with French wines, so you can pair your dishes with the perfect wine.

Our timeless and atmospheric decor, combined with our delicious food, makes for an unforgettable evening. So it is not for nothing that we have been voted the finest French restaurant in the Netherlands! Our interior is inspired by classic French bistros, with a modern twist. You will find comfortable chairs and sofas to relax in while enjoying our delicious dishes.

In addition to our restaurant, we recently expanded our premises to include the neighbouring property. This has now allowed us to welcome extra guests every Friday and Saturday and we have a beautiful space for parties, celebrations, presentations, meetings, service club events, get-togethers, and more. We would love to think with you to make your event an unforgettable experience!

Bouchon d'en Face brings a piece of France to Maastricht for me!
During my time with Paul Bocuse, I lived in Lyon for almost two years. The atmosphere, the cuisine I experienced there in the bouchons, can now be found simply in Maastricht. Bouchon d'en Face is an absolute must for me.

At a time when many restaurants exclusively serve a menu from 5 to as many as 8 courses, it is wonderful to be able to go to a good and cosy Bistro once in a while where you are free to choose the number of courses and enjoy French classics.
And then Bouchon d'en Face in the beautiful district of Wyck is a hit: here you will find delicious bistro dishes on the menu such as escargots , a nice terrine , a grilled bavette, confit de canard as it should be and as a 'gros bisous' a Dame Blanche!
